Microsoft has started rolling out Windows 8.1 as a free upgrade for all Windows 8 users

Windows 8 users can install the update by downloading it from the Windows Store. You may have to launch the store once or twice before you see the Windows 8.1 Update Live Tile.
As this update has only been released Microsoft servers are busy and downloads are slow! The good news is, you can keep using your
PC while the files come down in the background and if the download is interrupted for any reason, you can pick it up from where it left
off by starting the update again from the Windows Store.
Some things you need to be aware of before downloading:
1. The update is only available from Windows Store, there is no .iso.
2. Each device needs to be updated individually via the Windows Store.
3. The download size of the upgrade is around 3.5GB for each device.
4. Customers who installed the Windows 8.1 Preview need to be aware. When they upgrade to Windows 8.1 final, only their user accounts and data will be preserved. All of their applications will have to be reinstalled – including Windows Store apps and desktop applications.
5.
If you're upgrading from Windows 7, the Windows 8.1 media is available for preorder from Microsoft's online store now and is
will begin shipping today.
6. If you want to upgrade a machine that's currently running Windows XP or Vista,
you are required to purchase Windows 8 media,
upgrade your machine, then download the Windows 8.1 update using the Windows Store method.
Good luck with upgrading Windows 8!.
