Malwarebytes offering mobile protection

Malwarebytes has launched Anti-Malware Mobile, a free mobile security application for Android 2.3 or later devices. Available on Google Play, it is designed to protect Android phones and tablets from malware, infected apps and unauthorised surveillance.
Malwarebytes describes its Anti-Malware Mobile as ‘lean,'
using the minimum of security features needed to weed out malicious software without impacting a device's performance.
While mobile hacks are increasing, so far they haven't suffered the same level of attacks as PCs,
but as more traffic and eCommerce goes mobile, the pace is accelerating in this under-protected sector,
and it is Android rather than Apple which is getting the lion's share of attention from hackers.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Mobile use a custom-built detection engine to eliminate spyware,
Trojans and other malware in real-time to ensure personal identity and data are protected.
In addition to updating the protection database automatically, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Mobile
proactively scans third-party applications and files for malware and spyware,
and comes equipped with features that identify and close potential security vulnerabilities.
These security features include: Privacy Manager, which collects and categorises what personal information i
s being accessed from third-party apps and breaks down access privileges in detail, so users can track what
apps are using unauthorised personal data or costing money by employing premium services without the user's knowledge.
A security Audit flags up security vulnerabilities, such as GPS tracking and unsecured WiFi, and suggests steps to close them.
And its Application Manager identifies what applications are currently running or installed and their CPU usage
so users can terminate non-essential operations to conserve battery life and system resources, and identify unauthorised applications.
