Here are a few reminders about keeping you and your data safe this festive season.
Toolbar redirect calls are the number 1 call we get now, so watch out, if you are getting redirected when searching, having us help you now will save you from problems later.
Ensure your Antivirus software is up to date! It should update at least once a day. When did you last scan your drive for viruses?
We reccomend ESET Smart Security Suite version 7. We are happy to supply and install for you. Any questions you have regarding Antivirus products, just get in touch.
Be careful while surfing the internet, any website can steer you to downloading fake "Flash, Java, Adobe, Mozilla, etc" programs.
Be careful before calling tech support you found on the internet. Many are "fake" Microsoft companies and will charge you and possibly install viruses. iYogi is one of these companies!
If someone calls you from "The Windows Team" or claiming to be from "Microsoft" or similar, just hang up. Microsoft will never call you. These scams are getting more and more common. We are getting them!
If you use an external hard drive, be sure it's working, check it and do a backup. Then look for the date you did it. Look for files. If you don't see the date you did it, then it might not be working, we can help.
Check your online back up program, see if it's done a backup in the last 24 hours or so. It should be, if not, get in touch with us.
Have you had your computer serviced lately? Getting a tune up at least once a year helps keep your computer fast and updated, it just runs better!
