Today we will be discussing the screen no Windows user likes to see - blue screens of death as many computer/pc technicians and Microsoft calls this screen. This Blue Screen of Death or other wise known as BSOD for short is a blue background screen with white color type on it. This screen can come up really at any time. You could be installing software, or device drivers or just doing your normal day to day tasks.
The BSOD can be caused by bad drivers, bad updates, malware, or sometimes even a virus. Some of these problems can be solved by either removing something you have installed. The BSOD can hold some good information on it for you to do research about on another computer or on your current computer if you can get back into Microsoft Windows. Now having said that some of the BSODs can show up for only a few second or a few minutes or even hours. The ones the only stay up for a few seconds are some of the hardest to figure out because it doesn’t give you enough time to write down the information that you need
The information that you are usually looking
for on a BSOD are either a filename or a code, this code is called a
hexadecimal value. This code may look like this
STOP Error 0×00000001 to STOP Error 0x0000005F but
also if you are able to look at the bottom of the screen sometimes
it will give you a filename aka a file that is located on your
computer that may have caused or might have help the problem occur.
Sometimes if you are able to do a system restore and go back to the
day before the error occurred you can solve the BSOD. But sometimes
there will be times where a BSOD comes up and when you got to
restart the computer you are unable to get back into Windows, this
program can be fixed by booting up from your Windows Installation
CD/DVD and going to the
Recovery Console this is a program build on the
Windows DVD to help you fix some problems without having to
completely reinstall the Operating System (Windows). I have never
had this problem and the solution to your problem may be different
from others but if you are able to get the code and/or the filename
than just by using google you will be able to find the correct
solution for your BSOD.
